The Beginning of May, we have facilitated a workshop with the council of the First Lutheran Church in Astoria, OR. With the help of an Empathy Map, we have introduced a method to check for positive and negative thoughts, rumors, actions and obstacles to the approach of a certain task. This was the base for brainstorming and then clustering the specific to-do’s. The individual tasks were assigned to the members of the church council with deadlines for completion. Finally, we discussed how participants can engage in an empathic discourse with the congregation. All those present are now eagerly awaiting to tackle the tasks. We received very positive feedback and are invited to return in May 2020 to accompany the process in the future.
