Nonviolent Communication in Russia January 2019

The invitation to offer a nonviolent communication workshop at the St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Vladivostok was such an honor and I happily accepted. A workshop offering nonviolent communication according to Marshall B. Rosenberg and the ‘4-sides of a message’ developed by Friedmann Schulz von Thun was the assignment. The participation of the attendees, as well as the courage to step out of their comfort zone, was very inspiring and eye-opening. They explored new ways of communication, always ready to compare to the existing system, openly accepting and adapting which was an indication of the change in Russia right now. The quirky participation, openness, and readiness to explore new ways were unique and heart-warming. We separated as friends and I left with a heart full of gratitude that I can hardly explain. Thank you St. Paul Lutheran Church. Hope to see you again.
